Natural beeswax candles

The beautiful hand-rolled beeswax pillar candle burns with a gentle flame and releases a sweet and comforting scent of honey and beeswax. It is carefully handmade in Cork using 100 % pure beeswax in a honeycomb pattern and a braided cotton wick. our pure beeswax candles are completely free of perfume and toxins found in many other candles.

Beeswax candles are not only wonderfully rustic and natural, they are also genuinely sustainable and eco-friendly as they are made from a renewable resource. Beeswax candles purify the air as they burn, creating a healthier environment by reducing the amount of pollutants in your home while giving off a warm, soothing glow.

Wildflower Honey

Our bees make wildflower honey from nectar from spring and summer flowering trees, shrubs, and wildflowers. At Hanna’s Bees, we produce small batches of exquisite honey. Our wildflower honey is golden in colour and has a rounded floral taste and aroma. Because of its flavour and soft runny consistency, it pairs wonderfully with porridge or yoghurt and fruit for a healthy breakfast. It is also delicious on its own, in tea or coffee or drizzled over pancakes or fresh fruit. Our Raw Irish Honey – Wildflower is our most popular honey because it is so flavoursome and versatile.

Crystallisation and storage

In order to preserve the natural goodness of raw honey, our honey is not filtered or pasteurized.

Pure raw Irish honey will crystallise naturally. How quickly the honey crystallises depends on the types of flowers the honey originated from as well as how the honey is stored. You can eat crystallised honey as it is. It does not need to be liquid to consume. However, if you prefer clear honey, stand the jar of cloudy or crystallised honey in a bowl of hot water and stir until clear. Make sure not to overheat the honey, as it will destroy some of the enzymes that are so beneficial in raw honey.

Store at room temperature. You can also freeze raw honey. Freezing honey delays crystallisation. After that, you can defrost it when needed.

Do not give raw honey to infants under 12 months.

Guaranteed pure Irish honey

Reusable beeswax Wraps

Hanna’s Bees reusable Irish beeswax wraps are carefully handmade in Cork. We use only cotton fabric, Irish beeswax (from our own beehives and other Irish beekeepers), organic jojoba oil and pine resin. Our special blend of wax, resin and oil creates a waterproof and slightly sticky wrap, ideal for replacing cling film and other single use plastics in your kitchen and lunchbox. By switching to beeswax wraps, you will save money, cut down on plastic waste and help save the environment!

The Queen Bee gift set contains four wraps; two medium sized and one small. Perfect for use in the kitchen or on the lunchbox.

How to use

Pure beeswax and jojoba oil are ideal materials to use with food to help keep it fresh for longer. They both have anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. To use your beeswax wrap, cover or wrap your item of choice, heat the folds with your hands and press down gently to seal. Do not use your beeswax wrap with hot food, raw meat or in the microwave.

The beeswax wraps can be rinsed in cold or lukewarm water, with or without mild soap. They can also be wiped clean using a damp cloth. After that, leave to dry and reuse for up to a year or longer. Refresh your beeswax wrap every few months to prolong the life and performance of your wrap. This only takes a few minutes. Instructions come with the wraps, and you can also find them below. Furthermore, you can also re-wax your wrap using Hanna’s Bees Rewax Bars.
