Description

Our Pure Irish Honey Duo Pack contains one each of our Wildflower and Soft Set Honeys. It’s a perfect sampler pack for anyone wanting to experience our delicious range of honeys. It also makes a beautiful gift, and if you select the gift pack option it arrives packaged in one of our beautiful bespoke giftboxes.

In order to preserve the natural goodness of raw honey, our honey is not filtered or pasteurized.

This pure Irish honey duo is made with pure honey from our own honeybees. Our bees make honey from nectar from spring and summer flowering trees, shrubs, and wildflowers. For example, blackberry blossom, dandelion, white clover, linden blossom, thistle, and horse chestnut are the main sources of nectar for the honeybees that make our honey. Some years sycamore and hawthorn will yield a good crop and add depth and flavour to the blend. As a result, each batch tastes slightly different depending on what blossoms the bees have collected nectar from.

Soft set Honey

Our soft set honey is made from spring rapeseed honey, mixed with spring and summer wildflower honey for a rounded flavour and a creamy melt-in-your-mouth texture. At Hanna’s Bees, we produce small batches of exquisite honey. Our raw Irish soft set honey gets its smooth texture from the minute crystals that form as the honey sets. It is light in colour and thick and spreadable. It has a rounded, mellow flavour, with floral and toffee undertones. Enjoy our Soft set honey on toast or homemade bread. You can also add a dollop of it to hot porridge and allow to melt slightly, or just a spoonful straight from the jar. It is a wonderful accompaniment to a cheeseboard with chunks of cheese and biscuits. Soft set honey is ideal honey for children as it does not drip!

Wildflower Honey

Our bees make wildflower honey from nectar from spring and summer flowering trees, shrubs, and wildflowers. At Hanna’s Bees, we produce small batches of exquisite honey. Our wildflower honey is golden in colour and has a rounded floral taste and aroma. Because of its flavour and soft runny consistency, it pairs wonderfully with porridge or yoghurt and fruit for a healthy breakfast. It is also delicious on its own, in tea or coffee or drizzled over pancakes or fresh fruit. Our Raw Irish Honey – Wildflower is our most popular honey because it is so flavoursome and versatile.

Crystallisation and storage

Pure raw Irish honey will crystallise naturally. How quickly the honey crystallises depends on the types of flowers the honey originated from as well as how the honey is stored. You can eat crystallised honey as it is. It does not need to be liquid to consume. However, if you prefer clear honey, stand the jar of cloudy or crystallised honey in a bowl of hot water and stir until clear. Make sure not to overheat the honey, as it will destroy some of the enzymes that are so beneficial in raw honey.

Store at room temperature. You can also freeze raw honey. Freezing honey delays crystallisation. After that, you can defrost it when needed.

Do not give raw honey to infants under 12 months.
