Irish Honey Granulated

7.008.50

Our wildflower honey is made by bees from nectar from spring and summer flowering trees, shrubs, and wildflowers. This honey is the same as our wildflower honey, but has been allowed to granulate in the jar. Apart from eating as you would non-granulated honey, it’s great for skincare and makes an excellent, natural and luxurious body-scrub or facemask.

This granulated wildflower honey is pure raw Irish honey from our own honeybees. We produce small batches of exquisite honey, where each batch will taste slightly differently depending on what blossoms the bees have collected nectar from. Our honey is mostly from blackberry blossom, dandelion, white clover, linden blossom, thistle, and horse chestnut. To preserve the natural goodness of raw honey, our honey is not filtered or pasteurized.

Description

Our Irish honey – Granulated is pure honey from our own honeybees. Our bees make wildflower honey from nectar from spring and summer flowering trees, shrubs, and wildflowers. Each batch tastes slightly different depending on what blossoms the bees have collected nectar from. Blackberry blossom, dandelion, white clover, linden blossom, thistle, and horse chestnut are the main sources of nectar for our honeybees that make Wildflower honey. Some years sycamore and hawthorn will yield a good crop and add depth and flavour to the blend.

Taste and aroma

At Hanna’s Bees, we produce small batches of exquisite honey. To preserve the natural goodness of raw honey, our honey is not filtered or pasteurized. Our wildflower honey is golden in colour and has a rounded floral taste and aroma. Because of its flavour it pairs wonderfully with porridge or yoghurt and fruit for a healthy breakfast. It is also delicious on its own, in tea or coffee or drizzled over pancakes or fresh fruit.

Crystallisation and storage

Pure raw Irish honey will crystallise naturally. How quickly the honey crystallises depends on the types of flowers the honey originated from as well as how the honey is stored. You can eat crystallised honey as it is. It does not need to be liquid to consume. However, if you prefer clear honey, stand the jar of cloudy or crystallised honey in a bowl of hot water and stir until clear. Make sure not to overheat the honey, as it will destroy some of the enzymes that are so beneficial in raw honey.

Store at room temperature.

Face Mask

Irish Honey Granulated is excellent for use in your skincare routine. To use as a nourishing face mask, apply a thin layer of granulated honey onto clean skin and gently massage into the skin. Leave on for a few minutes, relax, and breathe in the lovely scent of the honey. Rinse off using lukewarm water.

Face/Body scrub

To use as a face scrub, use as described above and let the crystals in the honey melt slightly, this will take a couple of minutes. Then massage firmly to allow the crystals to polish your skin. You can leave the honey on as a mask for a few minutes after this to allow all the goodness of the honey to be soaked into the skin, then rinse off using lukewarm water.

Test honey on a small patch of skin first to make sure that you have no undesirable reaction to it. If using on the face or other sensitive areas make sure that you only leave it on for a few minutes the first time you use it, and extend the period for subsequent treatments if desired. Do not press too hard when massaging as the crystals in granulated honey are hard.

Do not give raw honey to infants under 12 months.
