Description

Hanna’s Bees reusable Irish beeswax wraps are carefully handmade in Cork. We use only cotton fabric, Irish beeswax (from our own beehives and other Irish beekeepers), organic jojoba oil and pine resin. Our special blend of wax, resin and oil creates a waterproof and slightly sticky wrap, ideal for replacing cling film and other single use plastics in your kitchen and lunchbox. By switching to beeswax wraps, you will save money, cut down on plastic waste and help save the environment!

Our Irish beeswax wraps come in a wide range of beautiful and vibrant prints especially selected to bring colour, fun and style into your kitchen or lunchbox.

Both beeswax and jojoba oil have anti-fungal and antibacterial properties and as such are ideal materials to use with food to help keep it fresh for longer. To use your beeswax wrap, cover or wrap your item of choice, heat the folds with your hands and press down gently to seal. Do not use your beeswax wrap with hot food, raw meat or in the microwave.

Between uses the beeswax wrap can be rinsed in cold or lukewarm water, with or without mild soap. It can also be wiped clean using a damp cloth. Leave to dry then reuse for up to a year or longer. To prolong the life and performance of your beeswax wrap, you can refreshed, or pasteurise, your wrap every few months. This only takes a few minutes. Instructions come with the wraps, and you can also find them below. You can also re-wax your wrap using Hanna’s Bees Rewax Bars.

We produce our own beeswax which is 100% natural and made from a renewable source which makes it sustainable and eco-friendly. The wax has been filtered to remove impurities but has not been treated in any way and is chemical free. Beeswax has anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. To use your beeswax wrap, cover or wrap your item of choice, heat the folds with your hands and press down gently to seal. Between uses the beeswax wrap can be rinsed in cold or lukewarm water, with or without mild soap. It can also be wiped clean using a damp cloth. Leave to dry then reuse.

To prolong the life and performance of your beeswax wrap, we recommend that it should be refreshed, or pasteurised, every few months. Do this by placing your wrap on greaseproof paper and put in the oven for a few minutes at 70-80 degrees Celsius. This will melt the wax and allow it to be reabsorbed into the cotton, resulting in your wrap looking and feeling fresh and sticky again. Some of our customers love their beeswax wraps so much that they opt to rewax them instead of getting new ones. Hanna’s Bees rewax bars (link to product) does the job perfectly and contains the same mix of wax, oil, and resin that we use to make our beeswax wraps.

Do not use your beeswax wrap with hot food, raw meat or in the microwave.
