How to Fold Beeswax Wraps Into Bags & Pouches

Learn how to fold your own beeswax wrap into bags or pouches using this simple to follow tutorial.

In our household we use reusable beeswax wraps for storing lots of different foods in the kitchen. We also use them a lot on the go, and they are a staple in my son’s lunchbox. I wrap up his sandwiches, wraps, fruit and snacks in them. We even use them for fiddly little bits such as grated cheese, nuts and pieces of fruit and cereal. But then, I fold our reusable beeswax wraps into fancy little pouches or bags to make sure the items don’t fall out when he opens his lunchbox.

We fold the wraps using a very simple origami technique that I also use to make seed packets for storing homegrown seeds. (Great to use the kid’s old drawings for this to make nice, colourful seed packets!)

What size to use?

You can use any size wrap for this project as long as they are square. The best size to use for fruits and snacks, and for kids’ lunch boxes is our midi wrap (25 x 25cm). If you are using a wrap with a button and string closure, make sure to place the button facing down & at the top.
