Honey Garlic Chicken Recipe

Tender, juicy boneless chicken breasts are marinated in a delightful blend of minced garlic, sweet honey, savory soy sauce, and a touch of olive oil. The chicken is then seared to perfection and baked in the oven, allowing the flavors to meld together and create a mouthwatering dish. Serve it alongside fluffy boiled rice, stir-fried greens, and a refreshing salad for a complete and satisfying meal.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup wildflower honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil plus more for frying
  • Optional garnish: chopped green onions and sesame seeds

TO SERVE

  • Boiled rice
  • Stir fried greens
  • Steamed vegetables
  • Salad

HOW TO MAKE HONEY GARLIC CHICKEN

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together garlic, honey, soy sauce, and olive oil until well combined.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a large shallow dish and pour the honey garlic mixture over them, making sure they are well coated. Marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 8 hours.
  3. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
  4. Heat a large oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add a bit of olive oil.
  5. Remove the chicken breasts from the marinade and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
  6. Pour over the marinade and transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 75°C or 165°F).
  7. Remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  8. Optional: Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
