BBQ sauce with Honey – Recipe

This BBQ sauce with honey is perfect for grilling or as a dipping sauce for chicken, pork, or beef. The sweetness from the honey complements the smokiness of the paprika and will add a unique flavour to your BBQ dishes this summer.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup ketchup

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

HOW TO MAKE BBQ SAUCE WITH HONEY

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the ketchup, honey, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it has thickened slightly.
  4. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool to room temperature before using it as a marinade or BBQ sauce for grilling or dipping.
  6. Use straight away or keep covered in the fridge for up to a week.

TIP

You can adjust the amount of honey used in the recipe based on your personal taste preference. If you like a sweeter sauce, you can add more honey, and if you prefer a less sweet sauce, you can reduce the amount of honey used.
