Driven by her passion for beekeeping and sustainability, Hanna became the first producer of Reusable Beeswax wraps in Ireland. Her pioneering efforts significantly contributed to making beeswax wraps a common and beloved item in many Irish homes, promoting eco-conscious practices.

Hanna’s Bees achievements include being crowned Best Small Business 2023 in South County Cork in the Best in Cork Awards, and shortlisted for Business of Craft awards at Showcase in the RDS 2024. Hanna’s Bees was also selected for the curated collection ‘The Edit’ at Showcase 2023, shortlisted finalist for the Irish Made Awards 2022, and won Best Stand at Cork Summer Show 2023.

These accolades serve as further validation of the high quality of Hanna’s Bees’ products and the Sustainable business ethos as a model. Notably, in 2023, Hanna’s Bees achieved membership in Guaranteed Irish, becoming the first Irish producer of honey and beeswax to receive this distinction.

Writing

Over the past decade, Hanna has established herself as an internationally recognized authority in beekeeping. Hanna’s expertise is evident through her regular contributions as a writer for An Beachaire, The Irish Beekeeper. Her articles have also been published in prestigious beekeeping publications, including the British Beekeepers Association, American Bee Journal and American Bee Culture. Hanna also shares her knowledge by lecturing to local beekeeping associations and is an active member of Fastnet Area Beekeepers Association, the Federation of Beekeepers Associations, and The Native Irish Honey Bee Society.
